Is it possible to cook without fire? “Yes very much possible!” say the students of Global Indian International School.
The school conducted a house wise ‘Cooking without Fire’ competition on 23rd November, 2017. The competition was conducted with a view to create awareness about the nutritional value of food cooked without flame , the necessity and advantages of healthy eating and to encourage students to stay away from the junk food.
Through this activity the students learnt the spirit of teamwork, culinary skills, appreciating the hard work put into cooking. The aim of the activity was also to provide a platform for students to showcase their talent and explore new areas of interest.
The students prepared healthy dishes like Cucumber Avocado Rolls, Papaya Salad, Butterfly Pea Lemonade, Cashew Paan Delight and many more using easy and quick recipes. They served the dishes in an artistic and aesthetic way which was most appealing and the display were a visual treat tickling to the taste buds.
Each house prepared 3-4 items which included a drink, snacks and a dish of their choice. The judges for the day were Mrs. Sopa Sittisruang ( Principal), Mrs. Linjong Lepapisut ( Mother of Por Por) and Mrs.Susan (Mother of Shaun) who judged on the basis of presentation, cleanliness, teamwork and taste of food.
The show ended with the prize distribution ceremony, where the winners were applauded with prizes. The winners were-
1st Position – Orchid
2nd Position – Chrysanthemum
3rd Position – Hibiscus
