On April 22, 2025, GIIS celebrated Earth Day through a series of innovative and eco-friendly activities that promoted environmental consciousness and responsibility. The day was filled with experiential learning that inspired students to take care of the world while being innovative.
Grades 1 to 3 students engaged in frame-making using real flower prints, bookmark-making with meaningful slogans, and t-shirt block printing with natural dyes—each advocating sustainable practice through art. Students in Grades 4 and 5 also engaged in t-shirt printing, further learning about eco-friendly design.
In higher classes, Grade 6 and 7 students participated in a "Nature vs. Pollution" photo gallery activity, where they took colourful photos using their cell phones to reflect on the dichotomy between the beauty of nature and pollution. Students in grades 7 to 10 aided the green campaign by participating in tree planting and creating posters using their computers, as both actions and advocacy merged.
The festival served as a worthwhile reminder of our collective responsibility to care for the planet and cultivate creativity and awareness in young students.
