On August 20, 2025, GIIS was honoured to host a Model United Nations (MUN) with the topic "Union Meeting on Human Rights." The program witnessed enthusiastic participation from students in Grades 6–10, who came to learn, discuss, and advocate for equality and justice.
Well-rehearsed and vivacious, the MUN had seven generals representing countries and representatives from other nations. Each student donned the hat of a world leader, speaking passionately and diplomatically about sizzling global issues.
The debates were not only reflective of knowledge, but of compassion as well — keeping in mind Eleanor Roosevelt's quip: "Where, after all, do
universal human rights begin? In small places, close to home."
All the children did their bit with perfection and demonstrated that if young minds are united for a cause, they are the voice of tomorrow. The session showed teamwork, problem-solving, and a spirit of global citizenship.
