Curriculum Design

Introduction

Global Indian International School, Thailand, is committed to providing holistic education through a balanced and dynamic curriculum. The institution focuses on achieving academic excellence, fostering critical thinking, creativity, and values, in alignment with global educational standards, to prepare learners for a rapidly evolving world. The school adopts the ‘Nine Gems’ framework, a structured model designed for Global Indian International Schools across diverse international contexts. This framework ensures the comprehensive development of learners by integrating scholastic and co-scholastic domains, thereby promoting well-rounded personalities and responsible global citizenship

Curriculum Framework

GIIS, Thailand follows the CBSE curriculum, refers to the educational framework designed and prescribed by the Central Board of Secondary Education, which is a national-level board of education in India. It emphasis on conceptual understanding over rote learning, and competency-based education. The curriculum is structured across the following stages:
       i. Foundational Stage [Pre-Primary to Grade2]
           Focuses on play-based and activity-oriented learning, with emphasis on the
           development of language and numeracy skills.
      ii. Preparatory Stage [Grades 3to 5]
           Introduces formal subjects while strengthening reading, writing, and basic                   analytical skills.
     iii. Middle Stage [Grades 6 to 8]
         Promotes subject-specific learning with conceptual understanding, encouraging
        critical thinking and problem-solving. It also integrates co-scholastic areas such           as art, sports, and vocational exposure. 
  iv. Secondary Stage [Grades 9 to 10]
        Emphasizes in-depth subject knowledge and academic rigor, preparing students          for board examinations.

The core academic subjects include:
 Languages (English, Hindi, Kannada, Thai, Chinese and French)
 Mathematics
 Science Social Science
 Information Technology / Computer Science
 Artificial Intelligence

Co-Scholastic Areas
To ensure holistic development, the curriculum includes:
 Art Education (visual and performing arts)
 Physical Education &amp; Sports
 Work Education
 Life Skills Education (communication, decision-making, empathy)
 Social Empowerment and Work Education[SEWA]
 Kaushal Bodh ( implementing SESSION 2026-27)

Teaching-Learning Methodology
